BUDA — the Mason Memorial Public Library will have free DVD borrowing though Tuesday. the library will charge for DVDs again after the children go back to school.

LADD — Preschool story times are held at the Ladd Public Library at 10:30 a.m. on the first and third Monday of each month. Programs are designed for 2-5 year olds with a parent or guardian. Information on these, and all library programs, may be found at laddlibrary.com or on Facebook.

LAMOILLE —the LaMoille-Clarion Public Library will be closed on Monday for New Year’s.

PRINCETON — Today, Thursday, the Princeton Book Club will meet at 7 p.m. at the Princeton Public Library.

The library will be closed Monday due to the New Year holiday.

On Tuesday, a preschool story hour will be held at 10:30 a.m. and the theme will be mittens. miss Cheryl will provide music. All area preschoolers and parents or guardians are welcome to attend. also, HRC Gateway will meet from 1 to 3 p.m., Talk about: E-books and E-Readers with library staff will be at 6:30 p.m., and the Princeton Lions Club will meet at 7 p.m.

SHEFFIELD — the Sheffield Public Library wants to start a group of village residents who are interested in helping with children’s department activities, fund raising and other projects. If you have time, talent or treasure to contribute, please contact library director Tami Pettis at 815-454-2628.

Library hours are Monday from 1 to 7 p.m., Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday from 1 to 7 p.m., Friday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. the library is closed Thursday and Sunday.

SPRING VALLEY — the Richard a. Mautino Memorial Library will be closed for New Year’s on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Also, library board meetings will be held at 8 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month. the next board meeting will be Jan. 10.

The library holds a story hour at 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday for all preschool through first grade children.

TISKILWA — the Tiskilwa Public Library recently held a monthly long food/paper goods drive for the Bureau County Food Pantry. Librarian Karyn Stark said local Tiskilwa residents were very generous with their donations for those in need in the area.
